Estate, Resale and Thrift Stores

We had a very pretty sunrise yesterday morning.  The colors were more intense than this show and with the palm trees…very picturesque.

Yesterday we got to meet Jim and Diane.  I became aware of Diane way back in 2008 when we were just starting out, someone suggested her as a source of information on RVing. I’ve chatted with her on facebook but never met her until yesterday.  I contacted her again when we started looking for a condo since she and Jim  recently purchased a home in Sun City.  Diane invited us over to check out some estate, resale and thrift stores in the area.

Jim and Diane graciously shepherd us around town visiting 6 or 7 stores so we could get an idea of the kind of furniture they carry and see the price range available.  We were impressed.  In fact, if I had a place to put the items I would have bought a reclining love seat and dining room table set straight away….Jim told me to at least wait till we actually SAW the condo we bought before buying furniture.  I hate when he is so logically correct.

We went to lunch at Las Cazuelas in Surprise….it was pretty good.

We checked out a couple more stores after lunch then said our goodbyes and drove back to Mesa to participate in a happy hour with neighbors from when we were in last October and November.  It was nice to see everyone again.

We decided to go back to Sun City again today to look at their seven recreation centers (which have swimming pools and some have libraries in them) and look at the thrift stores we didn’t go into yesterday. There is also a senior expo we want to check out tomorrow.

I know busy, busy.

Remember, you are loved.

  2. Next time you're in this area, you might want to try Rio Mirage Café (SE corner of Bell/Litchfield). We've been there several times and have always had good food.

Also, if you haven't been to the resale store beside Safeway at Bell/Cotton and you get there, give us a holler if you have time. We're just a few blocks from there:)
